Two Square

Round-Up Saloon, Dallas

“In this photo, Cody Allen is kissing his partner behind a saloon in Dallas, which has the country’s sixth-largest gay population. This photo, originally taken for Time magazine, was an obvious attempt to find a visual tie between gays and Texas culture. But several of my subjects voiced their happiness with an image of gay culture that was not a drag show or Pride parade.”
