547 Communities in Need! Thanks, Observer readers, for your gratifying response to the library subscription campaign announced earlier this year. The Observer now can be found in more than 1,000 library reading rooms, including nearly 100 in colleges and universities in other states. Yet there are 547 community and county libraries in Texas located in the cities that are not crossed out that do not receive the Observer Examine the list on both sides of this page for a city or town that is a sentimental favorite of yours, or for which you have a special concern. You can provide that community with a valuable supplement to the views commonly ex pressed in the local press by making the Observer available in the public library reading room. The special reduced price for library gifts during this campaign is $18 for a one-year subscription. By doing what you can now to help spread the word, you’ll provide justification for librarians to include the Observer in their budget at renewal time. Please try to make room in yourbudget for several libraries. Use the attached order envelope or send this page marked with your instructions to the Observer at 307 West 7th Street, Austin, Texas 78701.
