The Texas Observer sits down with Akwasi Evans, editor and publisher of the weekly progressive newspaper, NOKOA: The Observer. Listen to Mr. Evans read his editorial, “A 21st Century Dred Scott Decision,” written after George Zimmerman was found not guilty of second-degree murder and also acquitted of manslaughter after killing unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The NOKOA will be celebrating its 26th anniversary on August 23rd, 2013, at the Millennium Youth Entertainment Center in Austin.
