416 Communities In Need! The National Library of Australia in Canberra, Australia, sub scribes to the Texas Observer, and so does the high school library in Pawnee, Texas. All told, the Observer can be found in over 300 library reading rooms, including 75 in colleges and universities in other states. Yet there are 416 public and county libraries in Texas that do not re ceive the Observer. Most librarians are pleased to discover the Observer, and the demand for it by library-users leads to repeated renewals with library funds. But they need someone to get them started for a year or two with a gift subscription. Please examine the list on both sides of this page for a city or town which is a sentimental favorite of yours, or for which you have a special concern. We hope you will want to provide a source where the community can find a valuable supplement to the views too commonly expressed in the local press by getting that library on the Observer habit.
