The Final Countdown

Date: 2015-11-06, Time: 5:30 p.m.

Host: The Texas Observer
Time: 5:30-9 p.m.
Location: The Mean Eyed Cat

We’re headed to the Mean Eyed Cat for the final countdown of our Beacon fundraiser “I Have A Name/Yo Tengo Nombre.” Meet us at this Johnny Cash-themed bar to learn more about our project and help us finish strong. Observer publisher Emily Williams will do a quick Q&A with Curtis Smith, chief of staff for State Rep. Terry Canales, about the Forensic Science Commission’s immigrant identification task force.

Our friends at UT Press will have some catalogs for perusing and they’re also kindly donating some books for a drawing, so make sure to come on down!

There’s metered parking on 5th Street and Campbell and you can also park for free in the Gables parking garage. Stubb’s BBQ is available for purchase, too.
