Congress Won’t Pour More Money into the Border Wall
The Senate passed the Department of Homeland Security bill today without any additional funding for the border wall. Good move, but it still stinks for the hundreds of landowners in Texas who have the ugly 18-foot tall monstrosity in their backyards. They got caught in the crossfires of bad public policy, i.e. the Secure Fence Act, and now they're stuck with it.
The nonprofit environmental organization Sierra Club lauded Congress' decision today not to fund the border boondoggle.
In a previous post I pointed out that the federal Government Accountability Office said Homeland Security can't determine whether the fence is working. It's also going to cost us billions to maintain. How about some money from Congress to take the boondoggle down?

It is idiotic to suggest tearing the border wall down so get off of that kick right now. I live 3 miles from it so maybe I have a little different perspective than some cozy liberal in Austin. 1st—In this age of instant gratification—anti immigration people wanted something that would stop illegal immigration at o. The wall won’t do that. What it will do is not only deter potential illegals, it will funnel them into areas where they can be more easily seen and apprehended. When I say illegals, I mean not only persons, but drugs—live near the border for a while and you will understand how much illegal drug traffic comes via the Rio Bravo.
2nd—So far as calling it a boondoogle—I know quite a few people who got work building the fence—its more productive than any of Obama ARRact projects. So far as your asinine statement about not being able to tell if its working. Talk to some actual Border Patrol Agents—I have.
