This event was established in the tradition of Molly Ivins who, for many years, hosted Final Fridays at her home. Like the original First Friday parties of 40+ years ago, we invite Texas progressives to gather, let down their collective hair, share food and conversation and celebrate this continuing tradition.

Attention, Texas Progressives! Don’t see your city or county listed here? Then we encourage you to start hosting your own Final Fridays on behalf of The Texas Observer. We’re looking for hosts in Fort Worth, Midland and Odessa, Amarillo, McAllen, Texarkana, El Paso, Beaumont and just about anywhere else on the Texas Map! If you want to host or add yourself to an email list in your city, just email your contact information to [email protected] and we will get you started. Once you’re up and running, we’ll send Observer staff along to join the discussion.
