Rick & Rudy Show Not Winning Converts
October 20th, 2007 at 8:04 am
Immediately after his announcement that he was endorsing Rudy Giuliani for president, criticism started pouring in from traditional Republican stalwarts that one normally sees lined up alongside Gov. Rick Perry. From Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson to Operation Rescue’s Randall Terry, the GOP’s cultural conservatives and several of his erstwhile allies excoriated the governor.
Warren Mass over at the John Birch Society took issue with Perry’s sincerity and motives, picking up on the analogy Perry used to explain how he could possibly endorse a pro-gun-control, pro-choice, pro-civil-union candidate like Giuliani. Perry reportedly said he wouldn’t refuse to buy a pickup truck just because it had a part or two he didn’t like.
Mass exclaimed: Lacking respect for the dignity of human life isn’t the same thing as missing chrome wheels, it’s more like missing an engine! (Mass can’t seem to understand why Perry didn’t support fellow Texan Ron Paul.)
Patterson asked Harvey Kronberg’s Quorum Report, “What happened to conservative principles as the first measure of who to support for any office?”
He continued: Is this the same governor who upstaged Arnold in (California) with a message that Republicans need to return to their conservative roots if they expect to win elections? I guess the red meat he was serving in (California) was ‘rare’ as opposed to ‘well done.’ (See the Observer’s take on the speech here and here.)
The wild-eyed anti-abortion activist Randall Terry, not known for his subtlety, delivered perhaps the most scalding attack, comparing Perry to Judas Iscariot:
So-called ‘pro-life Republicans’ that are endorsing Rudy—like TX Governor Rick Perry, or NY (sic) Representative Pete Sessions, are typical treacherous politicians. They have betrayed innocent blood to support a child-killer; we can only wonder what 30 pieces of silver they are seeking.
We noticed when Giuiliani brought Sessions out a few weeks ago. Now Sessions and Perry are being lumped together. Curiously, however, Terry really gets to the point at the end of his diatribe. He says a Hillary Clinton victory in 2008 would be far better for the pro-life movement than Giuliani.
An enemy outside your camp makes you vigilant; an enemy in your tent makes you dead. Hillary would unite us, and she could be defeated in 4 years; Giuliani would destroy the cohesion of the right wing.
There’s something vaguely Freudian about the right’s obsession with Hillary. They keep saying they have to move heaven and earth to stop her, but deep down, they really, really need her. I know, it sounds like bad psychoanalysis—but I’ll just let Randall Terry have the last word:
As horrifying as it seems at first blush, Hillary Clinton would probably be a better president for the Pro-Life movement (and the innocent children we seek to protect) than Rudy Giuliani.

What was old Mr. 39% supposed to rally conservatives? Come on! If you are Republican from a very Red State and 61% of Texans vote against you, you must be a deeply flawed politician.
Additionally, between Rudy’s cross dressing and the numerous homosexual allegations against Rick Perry one has to wonder if their might be something more to Rudy and Rick’s relationship than mere politics.

To be clear: google “Rick Perry” “Ron Paul” if you need to narrow the results, add: Turkey. (the country, not the bird.)

Giuliani’s lawfirm, Bracewell & Giuliani PAC gave $20,000 to the Perry campaign for Governor.
Perry created the Trans Texas Corridor land grab (TTC), and Giuliani has already profited off the first leg of the TTC. Giuliani’s lawfirm, Bracewell & Giuliani, represents Cintra, the Spanish Company who will be building one of the first portions of the 4,000 mile TTC toll road (Nafta Super Highway).
And, toll road giant Macquarie, purchased Giuliani’s investment bank, just months ago.

Rick Perry is just selling out hoping to get a VP seat with Julie Annie but it will never happen. Ron Paul is the only true conservative running and Rick Perry knows Ron Paul would NEVER ask him to be a VP. Like most politicians, Rick’s a sell-out.
Ron Paul will win the GOP nomination because he has integrity and the support of the people. For more information on Ron Paul go to RonPaul2008.com

I doubt Perry will win Giuliani many if any supporters, and he might drive away a few. But did you really have to go to the John Birch Society to find critics of the Governor? Can you find somebody who dislikes him for some reason besides links to Communists, the Trilateral Commission and the New World Order?! Geez.
Perhaps you could try … duh, I don’t know … maybe Texas blogs to find similar sentiments from actual conservatives, as opposed to the octogenarian nutballs who mostly make up the remaining JBS? best,

Let’s picture Rudy Giuliani as a Democrat (which he was for most of his adult life.) He has perfect credentials on Social issues like child-killing, partial birth abortion, federal funding for “poor women” to have abortions (read “black women” – whose sons will likely grow up to be criminals in Rudy’s world - so let’s kill them before they grow up and rob little old white ladies to satisfy their crack addiction), and his support for so-called homosexual marriage; add to that his unblemished betrayal of the Second Amendment, and he would be a stellar Democratic candidate – with the ethical stature of Al Sharpton, Al Gore, and Hillary herself.
For talk radio and blogging fun, (while outside the N.Y. Times definition of acceptable mainstream debate) his personal life would serve as an inspiration to Bill Clinton. And finally, his treachery to the Catholic Church makes John Kerry look like a faithful communicant. Did you know that during his tenure as mayor Rudy revoked the Hibernian’s permit for their annual St. Patrick’s Day parade? (The Hibernian’s are a faithful Catholic Fraternity) The sin of these rabid Catholics (in Rudy’s Reprobate world) was that they would not allow sodomite floats to process in a Catholic parade. The Catholics went to Federal Court, and got their parade permit back. Rudy went to Mass, and got communion.
All this to say – if Rudy was a Democrat, GOP loyalists who put party ahead of principle would denounce him as Satan Himself – or at least Mayor Beelzebrooklyn - Lord of the N.Y. Flies. Rudy would be the poster boy of attack ads and fundraising appeals.
But since the Republican Party and Republican power is evidently the heart and soul of their public service, Rudy supporters (like Gov. Perry and Rep. Sessions) will betray Life, Marriage, Self-defense, and The Church Herself to see a fellow Republican in office. He may be a stench in the nostrils of angels – or devils for that matter – but at least Rudy is a stench that comes from our stable. (And maybe we’ll get a cabinet appointment if he gets elected because we betrayed Life, Truth and Justice early in the process. “First loves” hold a special place in every political fornicator’s heart.)
So, for those intolerant zealots who put principle ahead of party, party on. Fight on. Make life hell for Rudy, and the treacherous political prostitutes that are rushing to his harem. Maybe God will see from His heaven, and chastise Rudy (instead of the entire U.S.) with the whips those sexually imprisoned young sodomites carry in their parades of diversity.
