I'm a pretty liberal guy, but I'm not in favor of the CA Emissions bill either--the bill ties TX emissions standards to CA's, including any future changes that CA may implement. This is a hare-brained idea that sticks TX with whatever flaky environmental idea CA comes up with next. If they're really interested in passing the bill, set TX standards to match CA's current standards, not future standards.

This is absolutely ridiculous & an outrage! How can someone so anti-'anything to protect citizens or the environment from pollution' be the Chairman of our Environmental Regulation committee? NOTHING will get done to protect our health or economy from the negative effects of pollution while this man is in power. Citizens of Brazoria County and the entire state should create an uproar in protest of this Chairman. If the Speaker of the House won't do anything about the disrespect coming out of this committee, we must. Thank you to the Observer for bringing this outrage to the public's attention.
