Brace yourself, here it comes. Obamamania, Obama-rama, Barack the Vote, whatever you want to call it, Barack Obama is back for his first Austin appearance since the Texas Book Festival. Following some private fundraising bidness this morning, Obama will speak in front of an estimated 15,000 people at Auditorium Shores starting at 2 p.m.
We’ll be there mainly hoping to contribute to the media obsession that is Barack vs. The Hillary. Actually, we’ll be more interested to see if the rock-star buzz from the book festival is back en masse today. The real audacity of hope is that, after W.’s tenure, simply using that word as a campaign philosophy can help catapult a freshman senator to presidential front-runner.
More details, including bus routes and parking arrangements, over at Texans for Obama Blog. They’re advising people to get there early.
