I Luv the G-U-V and My New S-U-V

We just discovered Railroad Commish Michael Williams’ blog, and y’all it’s just a hoot! Judging by the comments — spam and some dude looking for a job — not many people have discovered this online oracle of wisdom.
In my favorite post/love letter, Williams admits he’s totally crushing on the Guv after hearing Goodhair’s Inaugural Speech in January: “It was, at times poetic, at other times prophetic and above all, the passionate expression of someone who understands his call.”
“I knew this was going to be a different speech very early on. When he acknowledged the genocide in Darfur I reflexively waved my arm in the air. Reverend Perry was in the house.”
Why Williams didn’t throw both arms in the air, we can’t imagine, but we hope Williams is keeping both hands on the wheel of his… brand-new hybrid Lexus SUV 400h (”spoils the driver, not the scenery”)!
In his latest blog entry entitled “Hybrid Happenings,” Williams announced, “I finally took my own advise [sic] and got a hybrid this past weekend.” He goes on to gush that the $40,000+ SUV “drives circles around my Ford Explorer on gasoline consumption and emissions reductions.”
We called Williams’ office and apparently, over a week after Williams’ blog post, they are just now getting around to drafting a press release about the commissioner’s purchase, so this is an exclusive. The draft press release quotes Williams: “Hybrid investment is a hands-on approach Texans can take in the war against terror and the movement toward energy security and independence. With every drop of foreign oil we don’t use, we reduce payments to unfriendly foreign regimes and regain control of our energy future.”
It’s good to know that we can fight the war on terror from the comfort of our walnut-trimmed, Bluetooth-equipped, luxury SUV. Still, Williams does deserve credit for personally promoting less-polluting forms of personal transportation. Now, if he can get his pal Reverend-Governor Perry to cowboy up and buy a hybrid, we’ll join Williams in throwing both our hands in the air.

Wow! More man love. And I just thought it was Ric Williamson and Rick Perry swapping spit.
